Kathryn also performed live to air on Phillip Adams ‘Late Night Live’ for St Patrick’s day, with Phillip’s  description of her performance as “exquisite…the voice of an angel.” Kathryn is able to perform a capella or with musical accompaniment by her outstanding 3 piece Band, ‘The Peat Fires.’

Kathryn, with her band The Peat Fires, was a feature act of many recent Port Fairy Folk Festivals. She recently feature her latest album in a concert performance at the Blue Diamond Lounge, with Kavisha Mazella and Archie Roach. This very special concert entitled "Blessings for Burma" raised funds for the ongoing work of World Vision In Burma.

Well known Melbourne singer of traditional and contemporary Irish song, Kathryn Clements is also  delighted to invite you along to Melbourne’s first free Irish Singer’s Club.
Kathryn has led many sessions both here in Melbourne, and at numerous festivals, with the aim of providing a welcoming space for all singers to share in the beauty and joy of song.

Several years ago her dream was realized and in collaboration with Melbourne’s most traditional Irish venue, The Quiet Man, a bi-monthly singer’s club has now been well established.

Kathryn was born in Melbourne, Australia and her love of music first began as a child singing Irish songs with her father. But it was her first trip to Ireland in 1985 which truly sparked her interest in the music, songs and dance of the Celtic tradition.

Since then Kathryn has toured Ireland on six occasions, performing in festivals and attending summer schools, including representing Australia in the prestigious Fleadh Cheoil na hEirann in Ballina, Co. Mayo.

In Australia, Kathryn has performed at several folk festivals in Port Fairy, Tasmania, and Canberra where she won the Lis Johnston Memorial Award for Vocal Excellence at the National Folk Festival.

Kathryn’s warm and engaging personality is infectious as she shares her passion for the songs and stories she has gathered from the masters of the tradition. Her voice is one of exquisite beauty and clarity, and as Phillip Adams, from Radio National described, she has  “the voice of an angel.”
Kathryn has led workshops in Traditional Irish Song for many years and delights in passing on this ancient tradition of unaccompanied song.

All singers and songwriters and musicians are welcome and Kathryn will also teach a selection of songs. Song sheets are provided! Traditional, Contemporary and Original songs are all welcome. So if you have always wanted a warm and welcoming space to sing your heart out, this is the setting for you!

Kathryn currently has five CD's including a double CD set plus her DVD "From Ireland to Here. or phone  Melbourne 03 94973227 for bookings. To see and here Kathryn perform Click Here.
